Getting Started

ScrollPrompt works across two environments that stay in sync through your account. Write once, prompt anywhere.

Write and manage scripts at app.scrollprompt.com. Use as a live teleprompter display for studio setups with an external camera.

Android AppAndroid

Record video directly in the app with your script scrolling as a live overlay. Supports up to 4K on Pro.

Quick setup

1Create an account at app.scrollprompt.com.
2Write or paste your script in the editor, give it a title, and click Save.
3Choose your workflow: click Start Prompter on the web for studio use, or open the Android app to record directly on your phone.
4Your script syncs automatically — no file transfers or cables needed.

Go to app.scrollprompt.com and sign in. The left panel is your script editor.

• Enter a Script Title and type or paste your content into the body.
• Click Save to store the script to your account.
• Click the saved scripts icon in the top-right header to view, load, or delete saved scripts.

Free plan: Limited to 3 saved scripts. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited cloud storage.

Teleprompter Settings

The right panel lets you customize the display before you start. All settings save to your account automatically.

Setting	What it does
Scrolling Speed	Controls how fast the script scrolls. Adjustable in real time.
Font Size	Text size as a percentage of the screen width.
Line Spacing	Space between lines for readability.
Horizontal Margin	Left/right padding to narrow the text column.
Text Color	White, Yellow, or Cyan.
Background Color	Black, Blue, or Gray.
Text Alignment	Left, Center, or Right.
Indicator Bar	A horizontal line marking your reading position. Color: Cyan, Yellow, or Magenta.
Bold / Italic	Apply bold or italic styling to the entire script display.

Starting the Prompter

Click Start Prompter to launch the full-screen teleprompter view.

A control bar at the bottom of the prompter screen lets you adjust speed, pause, rewind, and exit while the script is running.

Signing In

Open the app and sign in with the same account you use at app.scrollprompt.com. Your saved scripts will appear automatically.

Script Editor

• Tap the + icon in the header to create a new script.
• Tap the saved scripts icon to load any previously saved script.
• The formatting toolbar lets you adjust: Color, Bold, Italic, Margin, Line Spacing, Alignment, Background Color, Opacity, and Indicator Bar color.

Recording with the Teleprompter

Tap the teleprompter icon (top-right of the script editor) to enter recording mode. Your script scrolls as an overlay on the live camera feed.

Play / Pause

Start or pause the script scrolling.

Record (red button)

Start or stop video recording to your device gallery.

Rewind

Jump back to the beginning of the script.

Camera Flip

Switch between front and rear camera.

Speed Up / Down

Increase or decrease scroll speed in real time.

Settings Gear

Open camera controls: EV, FPS, and Resolution.

Tap the red Record button only when you want to capture footage. You can run the teleprompter overlay without recording at any time.

Camera Controls Pro

Tap the settings gear to open the camera control panel. Tap a button (EV, FPS, or RES) to expand its adjustment slider.

EV — Exposure Value

Drag the slider (–2 to +2) to lock your exposure. This prevents the screen's brightness from causing a "flicker" as the camera auto-adjusts. Set EV before you start recording.

FPS — Frame Rate

Select your target frame rate. Available options depend on your device capabilities.

RES — Resolution

Choose from 480p, 720p, 1080p, or 4K. Free users are capped at 720p. Pro users can record up to 4K on supported devices.

Free plan: Camera controls (EV, FPS, RES) and recording above 720p require a Pro subscription.

CSS Screen Mirroring

If you use a physical teleprompter rig with beamsplitter glass, Mirror Text flips the script display horizontally so it reads correctly when reflected through the glass.

1.In the web app header, click the Mirror Text icon.
2.The script display will flip horizontally on screen.
3.Position your monitor or laptop face-down under the beamsplitter glass.
4.Your external camera records the talent. ScrollPrompt handles only the prompter display.

The web app acts purely as a teleprompter display in this mode. Video recording is handled by your external camera or software.

QR Web Remote

Turn any phone into a wireless remote for your desktop teleprompter — no app download required.

1.In the web app, click the Connect Remote (QR code) icon in the header.
2.A QR code appears on screen along with a unique Session ID.
3.Scan the QR code with your phone's camera. The remote interface opens instantly in your browser — no app needed.
4.Use the remote to control playback from anywhere in the room.

Remote controls:

Toggle fullscreen on the desktop display.

Live speed readout.

If the QR code doesn't scan, enter the Session ID shown on screen manually to connect your remote.

Account & Subscription

Account Settings

Access Account Settings from the top menu in the web app or mobile app.

• Display Name — Update your public name in the Profile section.
• Password — Set or change your password in the Password section.
• Appearance — Choose a Color Theme and Light / Dark / System display mode.

Managing Your Subscription

Go to Account Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription to open the billing portal, where you can:

• View your current plan and next renewal date
• Update your payment method
• View and download invoices
• Cancel your subscription at any time

FAQ

My script isn't showing up on my phone.

Make sure you're signed in with the same account on both the web app and the Android app, and that you've saved the script (click Save in the editor). Scripts sync when the app loads.

The video flickers when I record.

This happens when the camera auto-adjusts its exposure in response to the bright screen. Use the EV slider in camera settings to lock your exposure before recording. This is a Pro feature.

Can I use the teleprompter without recording video?

Yes. You can run the teleprompter overlay on mobile without tapping the red Record button. Only tap Record when you're ready to capture footage.

Where are my recorded videos saved?

Videos are saved directly to your Android device's gallery. ScrollPrompt does not store your video files on its servers.

Is there an iOS app?

iOS support is planned for a future release. The mobile app is currently available on Android only.

The QR Web Remote isn't connecting.

Make sure you're scanning the QR code from the active session on your desktop. If scanning fails, enter the Session ID shown on screen manually. Both devices must have an active internet connection.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Account Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription to access the billing portal and cancel at any time. Your Pro access remains active until the end of the current billing period.

How do I delete my account?

If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it first via Account Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription, and you may continue to be charged if you skip this step. Once your subscription is cancelled, go to Settings → Account Settings → Delete Account in the app (scroll to the bottom) to permanently remove your account and all associated data.

What's the difference between the web app and the mobile app?

The web app is for writing scripts and using ScrollPrompt as a display for studio setups with external cameras. The Android app adds direct video recording inside the app, with the teleprompter scrolling over your live camera feed.

Can I use ScrollPrompt without a Pro subscription?

Yes. The free plan lets you save up to 3 scripts and record at up to 720p with default camera settings. Pro unlocks unlimited scripts, 4K recording, manual camera controls, CSS Mirroring, and the QR Web Remote.
